Mumbai Ultras Secure First Win of the Season with Solid 2–0 Victory Over PIFA Sports

by Chandler D'silva December 12, 2025

The ninth match of the Mumbai Premier League 2025–26 saw Mumbai Ultras claim a composed and well-earned 2–0 win over PIFA Sports, with both teams stepping into the game searching for their first victory of the campaign.

The match began with Mumbai Ultras showing more attacking intent. They pressed high, moved the ball quickly and constantly tested the PIFA backline. Despite the early pressure, PIFA defended with discipline, with Zion standing out in defence as he kept the Ultras from finding a clear breakthrough. At halftime, the score remained 0–0, with both sides looking for improvement in the second half.

Ultras came out even stronger after the break. Their forwards played with greater urgency, and the team looked determined to take control of the match. Their persistence finally paid off in the 64th minute, when Sachin Bangera unleashed a powerful strike from distance, putting Mumbai Ultras ahead.

PIFA Sports responded by pushing forward in search of an equaliser. They created phases of pressure, but Mumbai Ultras’ defence, led confidently by Shahid, stayed organised and did not allow PIFA any clear chances inside the box.

As the match approached its final moments, the Ultras continued to build momentum. In the 87th minute, Sachin Bangera struck again, finishing off a well-worked move to extend the lead to 2–0 and secure his brace.

At full time, Mumbai Ultras walked away with a deserved victory — one built on strong defending, patient build-up and two clinical moments. PIFA, despite the loss, showed promise with their young squad and will look to bounce back by learning from the experience.

For Ultras, the win brings confidence and momentum as they move forward in the MPL season, while PIFA will aim to regroup and return stronger in the matches to come.
