Mumbai Football Association Award Night 2023-24

The Mumbai Football Association (MFA) brought the curtain down on a thrilling 2023-24 season with a grand two-day Award Night, honoring the outstanding players, teams, and contributors who shaped the city’s football landscape last season.

A Night Made Possible by Sports for Life

For the first time, the MFA Award Night was presented in collaboration with Sports for Life (SFL), whose involvement elevated the event’s scale and prestige. SFL’s Co-Founder & COO Mr. Armaan Tandon and Co-Founder & CEO Mr. Sourjyendu Medda were felicitated by Shri Aditya Thackeray, President of the Mumbai Football Association, in recognition of their commitment to the sport’s growth in the city.

Two Nights, One Celebration

The awards were split across two evenings, each celebrating a different facet of Mumbai’s footballing pyramid:

  • Day 1: Youth Premier League (YPL) Awards
    The first evening focused on the future, with boys and girls from U7 to U17 categories receiving recognition for their achievements. The occasion was graced by Shri Aditya Thackeray, who lauded the young talents and their coaches for their dedication and passion.
  • Day 2: Senior Division Awards
    The second night was dedicated to the senior men’s and women’s divisions, from Third Division to the Elite Mumbai Premier League. Indian football Legend Baichung Bhutia was the chief guest, presenting awards and inspiring the next generation.

2023-24 Season Recap:

The 2023–24 Mumbai Premier League marked the 111th season of top-tier football in the city, running from October 2023 to May 2024. The season featured 16 fiercely competitive teams, with MYJ-GMSC emerging as unbeaten champions, Maharashtra Oranje FC as runners-up, and Hope United clinching third place. While in the Mumbai Super League Mumbai City FC U-19 Team played exceptional football and brought themselves back into the Mumbai’s top tier league after a much awaited long years, and India On Track secured 4th promotion in consecutive seasons.

  • Best Defender: Reynold Marzello (Palkaya FC)
