East Bengal FC Women wrapped up their maiden AFC Women’s Champions League journey with a campaign that, despite ending in the group stage, offered plenty of positives and a strong foundation for the future. Across their three matches, they finished with one win and two losses, gaining experience and confidence on Asia’s biggest stage.

Their tournament began in the best possible way, a 3–1 victory over Bam Khatoon FC (Iran). It was a historic win that gave the team belief and showed they were ready to compete at this level. The attack looked sharp, the midfield controlled the tempo, and the defence stood strong when it mattered.

The second match was a test of resilience against Wuhan Jiangda, the defending champions of China. East Bengal fought hard but fell 2–0, conceding twice in the first half. Despite the defeat, the side showed heart and improved their performance in the second half, proving they could hold their own against elite opponents.

Their final group match, against PFC Nasaf (Uzbekistan), ended in a 3–0 loss, officially concluding their campaign. Fatigue and the intensity of back-to-back matches showed, but the team continued to battle until the final whistle.

Though East Bengal did not qualify for the next round, their journey was filled with learning, growth, and moments that highlighted the rising level of Indian women’s football. A continental win, competitive performances, and exposure to stronger sides will only help them return stronger in future editions.

East Bengal leave the tournament with pride, not just for the results, but for proving that an Indian side can compete with some of Asia’s best.
