Symbians FC, ICL U19, and Waves FC Secure Vital Wins as Teams Battle for Top Spots

This week’s action in the Mumbai Super League didn’t disappoint, with teams pushing hard to climb the table.
From Symbians FC’s narrow win to Waves FC’s thrilling comeback, each match had its defining moments. The games were competitive, with both seasoned squads and fresh faces showing what they’re capable of.
Symbians FC vs India Rush:
In a fiercely contested match, both Symbians FC and India Rush started strong, but the first half ended in a deadlock despite multiple chances created on both ends. Symbians’ goalkeeper Yash Jadhav stood tall with several crucial saves, while the India Rush attackers were left frustrated by missed opportunities.
The second half continued with the same intensity, and it was Symbians’ Gaurav Narkar who finally broke the stalemate. In the 71st minute, Narkar scored the game’s only goal, ensuring Symbians secured a narrow 1-0 victory. The win propelled Kartik Bele led Symbians FC to second place in Group A, tied on points and goal difference with CFCI U-19.
ICL U-19 vs Ratnam FC:
ICL U-19 continued their remarkable run in the Super League, demonstrating their attacking threat with another dominant performance. Rohan Sunar was the star of the show, netting a brace within four minutes (39’ and 43’) to give his team a commanding lead before halftime.
Chinmaya Pakle added to the tally, scoring in both halves to secure a brace of his own. Despite a consolation goal from Sayed Sadiq Ali for Ratnam FC in the 73rd minute, ICL U-19 ran out 4-1 winners, bringing their season total to an impressive 9 goals in just two matches.
Waves FC vs Don Bosco FC:
In a clash between two newly promoted teams, Waves FC staged an incredible second-half comeback to defeat Don Bosco FC. Waves took an early lead when Trushan converted a penalty in the 18th minute, giving his side a 1-0 advantage.
However, Don Bosco responded quickly in the second half. Suraj Malik scored in the 53rd minute to level the score, and just four minutes later, Amish Saroj found the back of the net to give Don Bosco a 2-1 lead. But the drama didn’t end there. Waves FC’s super-sub, Shubham Navelkar, turned the tide with a stunning brace within three minutes, sealing a 3-2 comeback victory for his team.
Oscar Foundation vs Anstregung United FC:
Anstregung United FC bounced back from their opening-day defeat with a clinical display against Oscar Foundation. A brace from Indra Kuntha and a goal from Abhishek Mishra in the first half all but decided the match early on. Oscar Foundation struggled to find any rhythm in the second half, and Anstregung secured a comfortable 3-0 win.
Bombay Gymkhana vs United City FC:
On a rain-soaked afternoon, United City FC pulled off a 1-0 upset against Bombay Gymkhana, who were reduced to ten men. Kammal Sawm’s second-half strike was the difference in a tightly contested affair. Bombay Gymkhana, despite being a man down, managed to keep the scoreline close but couldn’t find the equalizer. United City could have doubled their lead late on, but their striker squandered a 1v1 chance with the goalkeeper, shooting directly into his hands.
Iron Born FC vs Charkop FC:
Charkop FC added to Iron Born’s woes, handing them a third consecutive defeat of the season. Mohammad Arfas opened the scoring for Charkop, and though Anverali briefly equalized for Iron Born, Rituraj Nilvarna’s first-half strike ultimately sealed a 2-1 win for Charkop FC.
