Mumbai Super League: Shreyas Zele’s Hat-Trick Powers Mumbai Ultras in a Six-Goal Thriller

Mumbai Ultras further cemented their dominance in Group B of the Mumbai Super League 2024-25, claiming a thrilling 4-2 victory over second-placed Anstrengung United.

The win marked their seventh win in as many games, keeping their perfect record intact while extending their remarkable goal difference with 34 goals scored and just six conceded.

The game began with a moment of glittering goal from Joyson Chettiar, who opened the scoring in the 16th minute with an audacious free-kick from over 25+ yards out. Spotting the goalkeeper off his line, Joyson curled the ball magnificently into the top left corner, giving Ultras an early edge.

Shreyas Zele doubled the lead in the 30th minute, converting a perfectly delivered corner with a composed near-post strike. His clinical finishing was on full display as he added two more goals early in the second half, completing his hat-trick with strikes in the 53rd and 56th minutes. Zele’s lethal form this season now includes two hat-tricks, solidifying him as a key figure for Mumbai Ultras.

Despite trailing by four goals, Anstrengung United refused to go down without a fight. Maroof Khan sparked hope with a goal in the 68th minute, and Mayur More added a spectacular volley from the edge of the box in the 78th minute. However, Ultras’ defense regained composure, ensuring there was no further breach.

The victory keeps Mumbai Ultras atop Group B, with a flawless 21 points from seven matches. Anstrengung United and ICL U-19 are tied for second and third, each with 13 points, but they now face stiff competition from ROQS-DFA, who sit just one point behind with two games in hand.

Brief Score:
Mumbai Ultras 4 (Joyson 16′, Shreyas 30′, 53′, 56′) – 2 Anstrengung United (Maroof 68′, Mayur 78′)

As the league progresses, Mumbai Ultras’ potent attack, led by Joyson Chettiar and Shreyas Zele, continues to set them apart. Anstrengung United, however, showed hope that could yet shape the narrative of this thrilling group stage.
