Mumbai Soccer Prodigies Dominate Millat FC to Go Top of Group D with 4-1 Victory

Mumbai Soccer Prodigies (MSP) continued their blistering form in the Mumbai Super League with a commanding 4-1 win over Millat FC, solidifying their position at the top of Group D.
From the outset, MSP looked threatening, and within minutes, they initiated the first attack of the match. Aryan led the charge from deep, driving forward before releasing Anant in midfield, who in turn played a precise through ball to Joseph. Although Joseph found himself crowded by Millat’s defense, it was a sign of things to come.
MSP wasted little time in breaking the deadlock. In just the 5th minute, a swift attack down the right flank saw MSP attempt a series of passes that were momentarily intercepted by Millat’s defenders. However, Kishan pounced on the loose ball, outmaneuvering three defenders as he surged into the box. With composure, he slotted the ball neatly into the far post, handing MSP an early 1-0 advantage.
MSP kept the pressure on, with Joseph D’Mello having two golden chances to extend their lead. On the first occasion, Joseph set up Kishan, who returned the favor with a square pass in front of the goal, but Joseph’s shot sailed agonizingly over the bar. Minutes later, Joseph made a classic No. 9 run, finding himself one-on-one with the keeper, but his effort clipped the post and rolled wide.
While Millat FC struggled to retain possession, they showed flashes of creativity in midfield, finding gaps in MSP’s defense. However, they consistently failed to produce the final pass needed to truly trouble Jacob Sahu in goal.
The first half could have ended with MSP comfortably leading by three or more goals, but a combination of near misses and resilient defending from Millat kept the score at 1-0 at halftime.
Fifteen minutes into the second half, MSP were handed an opportunity to double their lead when Akshay Chavan was fouled inside the box after breaking through Millat’s defense. Amith stepped up for the penalty and made no mistake, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way and calmly placing the ball into the bottom left corner.
Not long after, Akshay Chavan got his name on the scoresheet. After intercepting a wayward pass in midfield, No.6 set up a pass to Akshay on edge of the box & he sprinted down the right flank, cutting inside before unleashing a bamboozled Powerful strike into the near post, tripling MSP’s lead to 3-0 and effectively putting the game beyond Millat FC’s reach.
MSP continued to pile on the pressure, with a flurry of chances in the next ten minutes. Joseph, Akshay, and Anant all came close, but a combination of the woodwork, excellent saves by Millat’s goalkeeper, and some wayward finishing kept the scoreline at 3-0. Millat FC, struggling to stay in the match, had a rare chance to pull one back on a swift counterattack, but their winger missed a sitter, sending his shot wide of the target.
A chaotic second half saw Millat FC reduced to 10 men after a blatant handball stopped an MSP counterattack in its tracks. MSP capitalized immediately. Anant found Joseph with a well-timed pass, and this time, Joseph made no mistake, beating the defender with a deft touch before finishing calmly for his well-deserved goal, making it 4-0.
Despite their dominance, MSP couldn’t hold on for a clean sheet. In the dying moments of the match, Millat FC grabbed a consolation goal when a cross from the right found an unmarked forward, who tucked the ball away past Jacob Sahu.
As the final whistle blew, MSP secured a comfortable 4-1 victory, moving to the top of Group D and continuing their impressive run in the Mumbai Super League.
