MH Oranje FC secures dramatic 2-1 turnaround against Millat FC in Mumbai Premier League

MH Oranje FC orchestrated an incredible late comeback to edge out Millat FC 2-1 in a pulsating Mumbai Premier League clash.

MH Oranje FC orchestrated an incredible late comeback to edge out Millat FC 2-1 in a pulsating Mumbai Premier League clash.

After falling behind to an early strike from Millat’s Tausif Malik, Oranje pushed relentlessly, sealing the victory in stoppage time through a composed finish by Mohd. Khatib.

The match started with Millat FC on the front foot, and they capitalized on their early pressure almost immediately. Tausif Malik, their explosive forward, latched onto a pass at the edge of the box, setting himself up with a deft touch before unleashing a thunderous left-footed strike. The ball soared into the near post’s top corner, giving goalkeeper Mukunthan no chance and Millat a lead within five minutes.

Following the setback, Oranje FC tried to establish control through measured ball rotation, dominating possession for long spells. Despite their efforts to penetrate Millat’s defensive setup, wasteful finishing plagued them, leaving the equalizer elusive.

Tausif continued to be a menace for Oranje’s defense, using his pace and strength effectively. He dispossessed Dhananjay and drove into the box again but failed to beat Mukunthan, who stood tall to deny him.

The second half saw Oranje come out with renewed purpose, pushing for a goal to level the contest. Their persistence bore fruit when Yogesh Kadam delivered a moment of brilliance. Receiving a pass from Durwesh at the edge of the box, Yogesh controlled it beautifully despite being surrounded by defenders. With a flick of precision, he unleashed a stunning flick that cruised directly into the top left corner, leaving Millat’s keeper rooted.

Millat responded by trying to reclaim the lead, coming closest through Keegan’s free kick. His effort seemed destined to find the back of the net, but Oranje’s keeper Inchea produced a spectacular save to keep the scores level.

Oranje nearly went ahead in the 75th minute when substitute Pratham Ghatnur broke through on goal. Spotting the keeper rushing out, Ghatnur chipped the ball over him, but his effort agonizingly rolled wide of the post with the net at his mercy.

Minutes later, Shane Arhana squandered another golden opportunity after Sahil Bhokare played a perfect through ball. Shane drove into the box unchallenged but shot tamely into the keeper’s hands.

As the match ticked into stoppage time, Oranje found their moment of redemption. Captain Manish quickly took a free kick from the halfway line, catching Millat’s defense unprepared. His pass found Sahil Bhokare, who skillfully beat his marker, cut inside, and slid the ball to Mohd. Khatib. Khatib, with ice-cold composure, took a touch before rifling his shot into the top right corner, sending Oranje’s bench into wild celebrations.

The thrilling contest ended with MH Oranje FC claiming three crucial points, snatch victory from the jaws of a draw. Millat FC, despite their early dominance and chances, were left to rue their missed opportunities.
