MH Oranje FC climb to 4th after pulsating 3-2 win over ICL Mumbai

In the aftermath of their intense clash with SC Bengaluru in I-League2, MH Oranje FC sought redemption in their encounter with ICL Mumbai, a match crucial for their standing in the title race. Ashish Lalge, Miit, and Pratham emerged as standout performers for MH Oranje FC, while Loukik and Bhaskar threatened to seal the deal for ICL Mumbai.

From the onset, MH Oranje FC displayed an assertive demeanor, launching several attacks early on but failing to convert their chances. Rinaldo came close to breaking the deadlock but was thwarted by a stellar save from Arup Debnath. Throughout the first half, MH Oranje FC commanded the majority of possession, while ICL Mumbai looked to capitalize on counterattacks. Despite their efforts, neither team managed to find the back of the net, resulting in a stalemate at halftime.

The first half concluded in a rather tedious manner, with both teams unable to break the deadlock, resulting in a stalemate.

With the commencement of the second half, MH Oranje FC wasted no time in asserting their dominance. In the 49th minute, a well-coordinated team effort led to Ashish Lalge tapping in a volley. Sahil Bhokare’s precise pass from the left flank found Miit Adekar, whose cross was initially cleared by the ICL defense but fell favorably to Ashish Lalge, who made no mistake in slotting it home. Building on their momentum, Miit Adekar stunned with an audacious goal from outside the box in the 54th minute. Eshaan Singh’s through pass found Miit, who showcased exceptional dribbling skills before unleashing a powerful shot into the bottom left corner, leaving Arup Debnath grasping at thin air.

However, ICL Mumbai sought to mount a comeback, with Bhaskar Patil capitalizing on a defensive error to score in the 67th minute. Nevertheless, MH Oranje FC remained undeterred. In the 67th minute, MH Oranje FC capitalized on a defensive error from ICL Mumbai to extend their lead. As the ball was played back to Arup, pressure from Hersh Rall and Pratham, caused confusion in the defense. Hersh Rall won possession and quickly passed to Pratham Ghatnur, who calmly slotted the ball into the net. Despite Loukik’s late goal for ICL Mumbai in the 83rd minute, MH Oranje FC emerged victorious with a final score of 3-2.

The win, characterized by MH Oranje FC’s dominance with 68% possession and 24 shots on target, provided much-needed relief and propelled them to the 4th spot in the table. With exciting fixtures ahead, MH Oranje FC aims to conclude the season on a high note, navigating through the challenges with resilience and determination.
