Late drama sees Chembur United edge Vipul Gorai FC in 5 Goal thriller

Chembur United produced a miraculous comeback to overcome Vipul Gorai FC's late fightback in a thrilling MFA first Division game

Chembur United scored a crucial injury time goal to overcome Vipul Gorai FC’s late fightback, securing a 3-2 win in a thrilling MFA First Division encounter.

The match started with high intensity from both sides. Vipul Gorai FC attacked strongly from the right flank, delivering a perfect cross that their forward narrowly missed.

Chembur United capitalized on their first real chance when right-back Dipesh Rawat headed in a pin-point corner from Vaishakh, giving them a 1-0 lead. Despite Vipul Gorai FC’s continuous efforts, Chembur United’s goalkeeper, Mark, managed to keep a clean sheet.

Both teams continued to push for goals, but the real drama began in the last 15 minutes. Vipul Gorai FC’s No. 10 delivered a low cross from the right wing, setting up an easy tap-in for No. 17, but he missed the target.

Chembur United immediately responded with a well-placed lob pass from their midfielder to Elton on the left wing. Elton dribbled past his marker and set up Raakesh, who slotted a powerful shot into the bottom right corner, doubling their lead.

However, lights favored Vipul Gorai FC as a lobbed ball from their defense was misjudged by Mark, allowing their No. 9 to slot the ball into an empty net, making it 2-1. Raakesh had two more chances to extend Chembur United’s lead but missed both. Soon enough, Vipul Gorai FC then equalized with a deflected free-kick, bringing the score to 2-2.

In the final moments, Chembur United made a miraculous comeback. From a corner kick, the initial clearance fell to Russell, who back-heeled the ball into the net, sealing the victory.

With this win, Chembur United kept their playoff hopes alive, needing a win in their final game amidst competition from two other teams.
