Kamran, Manuel strike brace in MYJ-GMSC 7-0 win over Bombay Muslims in Mumbai Premier League

Kamran, Manuel strike brace as MYJ-GMSC cruised to a comfortable 7-0 win over Bombay Muslims in their latest Mumbai Premier League encounter

Kamran, Manuel strike brace as defending champions MYJ-GMSC showcased their class and attacking firepower as they cruised to a comprehensive 7-0 victory over Bombay Muslims in their latest Mumbai Premier League encounter.

The Mighty Lions came into the match determined to extend their winning streak, starting with intensity and creating several early chances. Kamlesh orchestrated an excellent opportunity in the 15th minute, delivering a precise ball over the defense for Kamran. However, Kamran’s hesitation allowed a Bombay Muslims defender to recover with a crucial tackle. Moments later, the Bombay Muslims goalkeeper made another brilliant save to keep the scores level.

Persistence paid off in the 20th minute when Andre Gazdar broke the deadlock. A pinpoint low cross from Pravin on the left flank found Andre perfectly positioned for a simple tap-in, giving MYJ a deserved 1-0 lead. Bombay Muslims came close to equalizing shortly after, but their No. 13 misfired from close range, much to MYJ’s relief.

MYJ doubled their lead just before halftime through their captain, Kamlesh. Siddharth delivered an excellent corner that Kamlesh headed into the net, giving the Mighty Lions a 2-0 cushion going into the break.

The second half saw MYJ ramp up the pressure, and their relentless attacking intent paid dividends. In the 60th minute, Siddharth turned provider again, threading a pass to Shamer on the right flank. Shamer beat his marker with ease and unleashed a powerful shot into the net to make it 3-0.

Just two minutes later, Manuel D’Souza showcased his vision with a perfectly weighted pass between defenders to Kamran, who controlled the ball with a sublime first touch before slotting it wide of the keeper to extend the lead to 4-0.

The floodgates remained open as MYJ scored their fifth in the 73rd minute. Jay found Pravin unmarked on the left, and Pravin’s cross to the far post was met by Manuel, who powered home a header. The sixth came soon after when Manuel capitalized on a chaotic set-piece, calmly slotting the ball into the bottom corner.

As the match approached full time, MYJ’s dominance culminated in a seventh goal. A failed clearance by Bombay Muslims fell to Kamran, who made no mistake in slotting the ball home, sealing a commanding 7-0 victory.

The win not only solidifies MYJ-GMSC’s position as league leaders but also highlights their all-around strength, from precise set-pieces to clinical finishing. The Mighty Lions will look to carry this momentum forward as they continue their title defense.
