The second edition of the Young ‘n’ Masters Challenge Cup 2024, a unique Father-Son/Daughter 2v2 football tournament, concluded on a high note at the Athlon Sports Turf Ground in Mulund, Mumbai.

Organized by Cool Veterans in partnership with Mumbai Knights and Tiger Sports Foundation, the tournament saw over 50 teams participating across five categories: Under 12, Under 14, Under 16, Under 18, and Above 18.

Football as a Family Bond

The core idea of the tournament was to strengthen family bonds and foster a sense of community through football. Parents and children teamed up to share the joy of the beautiful game, creating priceless memories. While competition was part of the event, the focus remained on togetherness and the pure enjoyment of playing as a family.

The tournament became a celebration of familial love and teamwork, with participants cherishing the moments spent both on and off the pitch. Many families expressed how the experience would be etched in their hearts forever.

Flawless Organization and Thoughtful Additions

The event earned praise for its meticulous planning and attention to detail. From team jerseys, refreshments, and surprise gifts to participation medals, winning trophies, and physio support, every aspect was carefully considered. Special goodies like caps from Tiger Sports Foundation, mini bags from JR Sports, and personalized photo frames added a memorable touch for participants.

The organizers’ primary goal was to promote football and provide a delightful experience rather than focus on profits. This commitment shone through, ensuring that every player left with a smile.

Empowering All Players

The tournament emphasized inclusivity, with enthusiastic participation from girls who played alongside and against boys. The presence of inspiring players like Janet (age 9), Fleur Gomes, Chelsea Pereira, and Tiara highlighted the breaking of stereotypes and the shared joy of football.

Tournament Highlights

The league-cum-knockout format ensured each team played at least two six-minute matches. Special guests, former India player and Air-India Manager Santan Sir and Kodewise Technologies founder Amit Yadav Sir, also a former national level player graced the event to motivate participants.
