Dhawal Tandel’s Hat-Trick Powers Mumbai Ultras to 6th Straight Victory in Mumbai Super League

Mumbai Ultras strengthened their top position in Group B of the Mumbai Super League with an impressive 4-1 win over JMJ-SG5 FC, bringing their record to a perfect six wins in six matches. Dhawal Tandel emerged as the star of the game, netting a spectacular hat-trick.

The action began early, with Tandel opening the scoring in the 15th minute. A well-timed long pass all the way from the halfway line was skillfully controlled by Dhawal at the edge of the box, who unleashed a precise shot from the edge of the box, setting the tone for the Ultras’ offensive display.

Just two minutes later, Mumbai Ultras doubled their lead with another impressive similar play. A cross-field pass found Sebastian at the left flank, who moved into the box and set up Shreyas Zele with a well-timed pass. Shreyas perfectly at the right place & unmarked calmly slotted the ball inside net, giving the Ultras a solid 2-0 lead.

Just before the halftime whistle, Dhawal produced a moment of magic from 25+ yards out. Following an intercepted pass in their own half, Shreyas Zele quickly passed the ball to Dhawal, who was positioned inside his half but eager to break forward. Despite being outnumbered, Dhawal used his pace to evade two defenders, charging ahead confidently in a 2v4 situation. Rather than maneuvering around the remaining defenders, Dhawal opted for a bold long-range strike. His shot rocketed toward the top left corner, leaving the JMJ-SG5 goalkeeper with no chance.

Early in the second half, JMJ-SG5 managed to pull one back with a skillful strike from the edge of the box, momentarily sparking hopes of a comeback.

But Dhawal soon dashed those hopes, completing his hat-trick with a thrilling counterattack. A defensive clearance from the loose corner at the first post found him near the halfway line, Dhawal’s impressive speed created enough separation, between him & defenders and as he approached the box, the JMJ-SG5 goalkeeper rushed out to intercept him. In a cool move, Dhawal slotted the ball through the keeper’s legs to seal the 4-1 victory.
