Chembur United – JFC ride on Pradnesh’s late stunner to beat Carmelites FC 1-0.

In a thrilling MFA 1st Div encounter between Chembur United (JupiterFC) and Carmelites FC, the game saw both teams create several scoring opportunities, but a late goal by Chembur United -JFC’s Pradnesh Kadam secured the win.
The match began with a high intensity as CFC’s number 18 quickly made his presence felt, taking a corner kick that reached number 3, whose shot missed the target by inches. This early attempt set the tone for a game filled with excitement and near-misses. In response, Chembur United (JupiterFC) Vaishak made a strong push down the right wing, sending a long ball to Rakesh, whose subsequent shot went wide of the goal. The action continued as JFC’s Vaishak took a free kick that CFC’s defenders expertly deflected. JFC’s Rohan seized on the loose ball and fired a powerful shot, but it narrowly missed the goalpost. Before the first half concluded, CFC’s number 18 once again found space on the right wing and unleashed a shot that sailed just over the crossbar. It was a half filled with close calls but no goals.

The second half started with a surge in energy from JFC. Elton executed a corner kick that caused chaos in front of CFC’s goal, with the ball deflecting off the keeper and falling to Rakesh. His attempt to score was blocked by CFC’s defenders, demonstrating the tenacity of both teams’ defensive lines. JFC continued their offensive pressure with a precise pass from Elton on the right wing, setting up a close-range chance for Dipesh Rawat and Pradnesh. Unfortunately, their attempts were thwarted by the CFC goalkeeper, who made a fantastic save. Moments later, Dipesh Rawat launched another attack from the left flank, dribbling past his marker and squaring the ball to his midfield partner, who made a similar pass to the right wing instead of taking a shot. This conservative playstyle seemed to hold back JFC’s scoring chances.
CFC also had their moments of danger, as number 2 sent a long pass to number 18, who cleverly set up number 7. However, Chembur United – JFC goalkeeper, Mark, made a crucial save, keeping the game scoreless. The relentless pressure from Chembur United – JFC continued to build, with Rakesh intercepting a pass and assisting Elton, whose shot at goal missed by a fraction of an inch. Chembur United – JFC’s breakthrough finally came when Elton, from the right wing, found Suraj. His shot deflected off the goalkeeper and fell to Pradnesh Kadam, who capitalized on the opportunity by sending a well-placed shot into the back of the net, giving Chembur United – JFC a 1-0 lead.
The final moments of the game were tense, with both teams giving it their all. CFC pressed hard, looking for an equalizer, but JFC’s defense stood strong. Despite several close calls, including a well-timed cross from CFC’s number 2 and a volley attempt by number 18, JFC’s defense and goalkeeper were up to the task. As the final whistle blew, JFC players celebrated their hard-fought victory.
Chembur United-JFC’s 1-0 win over Carmelite FC was a testament to their determination and resilience. Both teams played with intensity and skill, but it was Chembur United – JFC’s ability to capitalize on their chances that made the difference. The game’s lone goal by Pradnesh Kadam was enough to secure the victory, highlighting the importance of seizing crucial opportunities in football.
