Bombay Gymkhana cliched 3rd place, MH Oranje U23 finish 4th in Mumbai Super League

In a dramatic turn of events Bombay Gymkhana cliched 3rd place in Mumbai Super League.

In the quest for the third spot in the Mumbai Super League, Bombay Gymkhana and Maharashtra Oranje FC (23) clashed in a match filled with twists and turns, ending in a 3-3 tie. From the beginning, both teams battled fiercely, each aiming to control the game and impose their strategy.

Maharashtra Oranje FC struck early, as Egan capitalized on the ball at the edge of the box, beating the keeper for an opening goal. As the first half progressed, Maharashtra Orange FC continued to dominate the game and creating numerous chances. Egan’s exquisite through ball found Kamal, who displayed exceptional dribbling skills from 25 yards out to poke the ball into the net while extending the lead.
Just before halftime, Anas Vadgama’s powerful shot aimed for the top corner was met with an exceptional save by Raaquib, preserving Maharashtra Orange FC’s two-goal lead.

Oranje FC demonstrated excellent ball control and maintained possession through the first half. However, Bombay Gymkhana came out strong in the second half, pressing relentlessly and displaying resilience in their pursuit of victory. Their perseverance paid off in the second half when they staged a remarkable comeback, netting three goals in quick succession to turn the tide of the game.

Anas Vadgama led the charge for Bombay Gymkhana, capitalizing on defensive errors to find the back of the net and narrow the deficit to 2-1. Moments later, Bombay Gymkhana striker exploited gaps in Oranje’s defense to level the score with a clinical finish. With the momentum firmly in their favor, Bombay Gymkhana continued to push forward, and Anas once again rose to the occasion, delivering a crucial goal to put his team in the lead.

However, Maharashtra Oranje FC refused to concede defeat and launched a determined counteroffensive of their own. In the 80th minute, Aditya More’s pinpoint cross from a corner found Zothanpuia, who soared above the defense to score a towering header, equalizing the score once again.

The final whistle blew, signaling the end of a pulsating encounter. Despite their best efforts, neither team could clinch victory, and the match ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw. In the end, Bombay Gymkhana secured third place in the Mumbai Super League, while Maharashtra Oranje FC 4th in the playoff table just one point behind them.
