Mumbai Strikers and West Zone United Battle to a 2-2 Draw in Mumbai Super League Clash

In a pulsating encounter in the Mumbai Super League Group C, Mumbai Strikers SC clashed with West Zone United in a match that unfolded with intense action and dramatic twists.
Mumbai Strikers came out with guns blazing from the kickoff, and it didn’t take them long to break the deadlock. In the 2nd minute, Nirbhay Patpatia’s precise cross from left wing found Ravish Dsouza at the far post, who clinically headed home to give Strikers an early lead.
The attacking momentum continued as, in the 13th minute, a beautiful combination between Rakesh Patne and Harsh Vaghela set up Ankush Singh, whose cross saw a fantastic back-heeled finish by Ravish Dsouza to double the lead to 2-0.
At the other end, Gajendra singh went close for West Zone United when his shot deflected off Nirbhay but goalkeeper Muhammed Shaheer was alert to gather it well. Moments later a free-kick from 25 yards out was shot over the bar. Gajendra Singh continue to be a threat for Strikers sending in a dangerous cross into the Strikers box, but Mohammed Shaheer made two point blank save to deny the opponents the goal.
West Zone United, however, showcased resilience. In the 41st minute, a poor kick from Shaheer gifted the ball to Gajendra Singh, who beat his marker before rounding up the keeper to slot home the goal and bring the deficit to 1 goal.
The second half witnessed a shift in momentum, with both teams battling fiercely. West Zone United initiated a comeback, and Sohail Katri’s sublime chip over the keeper in the 60th minute leveled the score at 2-2.
The match evolved into a see-saw battle with both teams pressing for a winner. Mumbai Strikers, led by the dynamic Ravish Dsouza, created chances, but West Zone’s defense held firm. In a counter-attacking move, Ravish went on a solo run, but his final shot narrowly missed the mark.
Both teams had opportunities, with Mumbai Strikers aiming to regain the lead. A dangerous free-kick from Ravish and subsequent headers kept the pressure on, but West Zone’s defense stood resolute.
As the clock wound down, both sides were unable to find the decisive goal, and the match concluded with a hard-fought 2-2 draw.
