In a surprising turn of events during the Mumbai Premier League encounter, Maharashtra Oranje FC secured a 4-0 win against JMJ SC, but not in the manner they had hoped for.

The game witnessed an unconventional scenario where JMJ SC started with only seven players, with an injury midway into the game resulting in their team being reduced to six men, leading to the game’s eventual forfeiture.

Within the first few minutes, Maharashtra Oranje FC asserted their dominance as Advait Shinde opened the scoring with a goal, kickstarting what seemed like a routine match. Despite JMJ SC’s defensive efforts, Maharashtra Oranje continued to press forward with attacks.

Sanchit Singh doubled the lead with a well-placed shot from the center of the box after receiving a pass from Jordan Koli. The defensive tactics of JMJ SC, with seven players strategically positioned around their own box, managed to resist some of Oranje’s onslaughts. The JMJ keeper made point-blank saves, and two goals were called offside.

The scoreline stretched to 3-0 as Manish Siddha showcased a brisk run and a deflected finish to the net, leaving JMJ SC struggling to contain the relentless attacks.

Around the 18th minute mark, Aashish Lalge added another goal to the tally with a curling effort from the edge of the box, securing a comfortable 4-0 lead for Maharashtra Oranje FC.

Moments later, the JMJ keeper sustained an injury, rendering him unable to continue. With JMJ SC reduced to just six players, the referee, following the rules, called off the game and awarded the victory to Maharashtra Oranje FC.

Despite the win, Maharashtra Oranje FC’s coach, Satyajeet Saaini, expressed disappointment, stating, “Not the way we would have liked our preparation to be, as we get ready for I-league 2. We need to play more competitive games to prepare ourselves, and such events won’t help. Disappointed but now moving onto the next game.”

With this win, Maharashtra Oranje FC currently holds the 2nd spot in the Mumbai Premier League standings, accumulating 6 points from 3 games.
