Mumbai Kenkre FC offers Investment opportunities

Mumbai’s Kenkre FC is actively seeking investors, who are passionate about football development and willing to propel the club to the next phase.

Mumbai’s sole representative in this year’s Hero I-league, Kenkre FC is offering investment opportunities in the club. After spending two years in Hero I-League with a limited budget that’s backed by club patronage Adib Kenkre, Kenkre FC has run into financial constraints.

In 2020, Kenkre FC was granted admission to the I-League after former champions Chennai City FC failed to clear the licensing criteria. With a limited budget and the financial constraints posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Kenkre FC participated in the league with a largely Indian squad and only a couple of foreign players. While several young players got an opportunity to play at the national level, the club struggled to perform consistently and finished bottom of the table after the first phase. In the relegation stage, they managed to earn 12 points but it was not enough to avoid relegation to the I-League 2nd Division.

Despite being relegated, Kenkre FC was allowed to participate in the 2022-23 I-League season on sympathetic grounds. However, the club struggled financially due to the lack of sponsors and limited revenue from ticket sales. To stay competitive in the league and avoid relegation, Kenkre FC signed some foreign players during the January transfer window, but this took a financial toll on the club. Despite the signings and marked improvement in performance as compared to last season, it was not enough for them to survive relegation

Looking ahead, Kenkre FC is seeking investors to help propel the club to the next phase. In a recent social media post, the club invited like-minded partners who are interested in football development to invest in the club. The club is hoping that the infusion of funds will help them strengthen their squad and compete at the top level.

Youth and Women Team

Kenkre FC has a strong focus on youth development and has produced several talented young players who have gone on to play for top clubs in India. In Mumbai, the club built and runs eight academies with more than a thousand kids enrolled. The women’s team of Kenkre FC has also been particularly successful, winning the WIFA Women’s Football League once in the 2018-19 season and then finishing runner-ups in the next season.

With the right investments, Kenkre FC has the potential to become a force to be reckoned with in Indian football, and a beacon of hope for aspiring footballers in the region.
