Mumbai Super League: Mumbai Soccer Prodigies secure 3-1 win over Mumbai Strikers

The Monday morning MFA Super League Group C encounter at the Neville D’souza Ground saw Mumbai Soccer Prodigies (MSP) Secure a comprehensive 3-1 victory against Mumbai Strikers SC (MSSC).

The match witnessed early goals, rapid-fire attacks, and notable individual performances.

MSP wasted no time in taking the lead, with Varad Parab opening the scoring in the 5th minute. A well-coordinated attack initiated by Parab himself culminated in a clinical finish, leaving the Strikers’ defense stunned.

Mumbai Strikers responded with a attack of their own, and cross into the box finds Ankush Singh whose header is saved by the MSP keeper Jacob Sabu

At the other end, MSP double the lead quickly, Gaurav Adhikari’s ball into the box finds Nihal Colaco whose strikes is saved by the Strikers Keeper Muhammed Shaheer however the rebound fells for Lokesh Bogi, who made no mistake to find the net with a clinical strike. 2-0

Around the half hour mark, Deep finds Nihal with a brilliant pass between two defenders while the latter makes a timely run to beat the offside mark and find the net with a clinical strike at the near post to make it 3-0 within 30 minutes

Mumbai Strikers respond with a goal of their own, Adithya’s ball in to the far post finds Harsh Vaghela whose first time shot is saved by Jacob however, MSSC’s striker Manav was alert to dispatch the rebound into the net and to pull one back for his side.

In the dying moments of the first half, MSP went close again when a low ball into the Strikers’ box found Gaurav whose toe poke shot was tipped over by the Mohammed Shaheer.

In the second half, MSP start well again, in one of their attack a long ball into box is cleared by Strikers defence but only till the edge of the box where captain Gaurav Adhikari attempts a shot on goal but the ball comes of a defender

Minutes later, Nihal goes wide with the ball cuts in to beats his marker and shoots with his left but is denied by MSSC keeper’s foot

At the other end, Mumbai Strikers put men forward in an attempt to find goals. Nirbhay’s shot is deflected and goes just over bar

Later in the game, another Strikers attack results in a Corner which is cleared by MSP defence and quickly transitioned in to a counter attack, Nihal beats his marker, and the keeper who had come way out of his box. However Nihal couldn’t keep his balance and his feeble attempt on goal is intercepted by Strikers defenders.

In the end, Mumbai Soccer Prodigies emerged victorious with a final score of 3-1.
