MFA Roundup: Sellebrity FC outlasts Rudra FC, PIFA SC sneaks past India Rush SC with a last-minute winner

A midweek MFA Division Roundup as Sellebrity FC’s registers victory against Rudra FC, Millat FC draw Mumbai Knights JMJSC, and The Oranje FC’s dominant win against Iron Born FC.
Ritesh Perambra broke the deadlock in the very 2nd minute of the game. Despite Rudra FC making a good attempt to find an equalizer, Sellebrity held the fort well till halftime. Early in the second half, Rudra FC’s pressure bore fruit when Mohamed Beg finally breached the Sellebrity defense to make it 1-1. After some back and forth between the two sides in search of a winner, in the dying minutes of the game, Ritesh Perambra found the net for the second time to put Sellebrity through to three points.
Match 79 – Sellebrity FC (Ritesh Perambra 2′, 89′) 2 – 1 Rudra FC (Mohamed Beg 54′)
The second match of the weekend saw Millat FC take on Mumbai Knights JMJSC. A goalless first half saw both teams struggle to break each other down. However, the second half saw a substitution that would change the game. Merick Fernandes came on and opened the scoring for Millat FC in the 76th minute. But the Mumbai Knights weren’t ready to give up just yet. Mikail Kazi scored the equalizer for his team in the 85th minute, securing a hard-fought 1-1 draw.

The third match of the weekend saw The Oranje FC take on Iron Born FC. The Oranje FC dominated the game from start to finish, with captain Aimar Adams finding the back of the net twice, in the 73rd and 84th minute, while Yogesh Kadam scored from the penalty spot in the 61st minute. The Oranje FC’s convincing 3-0 victory further solidified their place in the league table.
Millat FC remains in 4th position in the league table with 22 points from 10 games, while The Oranje FC sit at 3rd with 24 points from 11 games.
Match 81 – The Oranje FC (Aimar Adams 73′, 84′, Yogesh Kadam 61′(P)) 3 – 0 Iron Born FC
The final match of the weekend saw PIFA SC take on India Rush SC. The match got off to a dramatic start with Sharjil Ansari scoring an own goal in the 14th minute that put PIFA in an early lead. India Rush though fought just after half-time, when striker Saurabh Ramteke found the back of the net in the 46th minute. But PIFA SC didn’t give up and kept pushing until the final whistle. Their persistence finally paid off in the 93rd minute when Varad Ayare found the back of the net, securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory for his team.
Match 82 – PIFA SC (Varad Ayare 90+3′) 2 – 1 India Rush SC (Sharjil Ansari 14′ (OG), Saurabh Ramteke 46′)
