KSA drop points in the title race after draw with The Oranje FC

In a crucial encounter, Karnatak Sporting Association(KSA) and The Oranje FC played out an exciting 2-2 draw in match number 108 of the MFA Elite Division League on Friday, February 24.

While KSA remains unbeaten in the league, dropping points was a major boost for the chasing pack. The closest rival, Atlanta, is eight points behind in 3rd place but has four games in hand. KSA will be hoping Atlanta drop points too before their final-day clash against each other.

It was The Oranje FC who took the lead first, through a goal from Sahil Bhokare in the 20th minute. However, Sanchit Singh netted the equalizer for KSA in the 37th minute, turning the game around. KSA then took the lead for the first time through a goal from Roger Antony. But, their joy was short-lived as Rinaldo Fernandes scored the equalizer for Oranje FC in the 69th minute, earning a crucial point for the team.

With this draw, The Oranje FC move to the 4th spot in the league table with 28 points from 13 games, while Karnatak Sporting Association (KSA) remains at the top of the table with 38 points from 14 games.

KSA will play their final league game against Ambernath-Atlanta FC on the 8th of March, in what could potentially be a title-deciding game. On the other hand, Oranje FC will face PIFA Sports FC in their next fixture on Feb 28.

Match 108 FT – Karnatak Sports Association (Sanchit Singh 37′, Roger Antony 54′) 2-2 The Oranje FC (Sahil Bhokare 20′, Rinaldo 69′)
