Kolhapur, Ahmednagar Win Big On Day 2 Of WIFA Inter District Championship
The second day of the WIFA Inter District Championship witnessed exhilarating football encounters as teams showcased their skills and determination on the field. Here is a recap of the day’s action
In the early morning matches, Palghar demonstrated a strong comeback spirit and stunning attacking second-half gameplay against Satara, securing a convincing 7-1 victory. Abhindya Sul opened the scoring for Satara, but Rudra Sonar’s equalizer before halftime ignited a remarkable comeback. Sonar and Lexton Colaco both completed hat-tricks in the second half, sealing an impressive win for Palghar.
Jalgaon also displayed their dominance with a 4-1 triumph over Wardha. Dhruv Bhojwani netted two goals in the first half, while Ryan Ross contributed two goals in the second half to secure the victory for Jalgaon.
Nagpur showcased their offensive firepower in a resounding 7-1 win over Ratnagiri. Saket Gajbhiye stole the spotlight with a remarkable hat trick, guiding Nagpur to a comfortable victory.
Aurangabad left no room for doubt in their match against Bhandara, securing an emphatic 8-0 triumph. Harsh Patil and Pouras Patil both registered brace, highlighting Aurangabad’s attack.
The clash between Buldhana and Nandurbar ended in a thrilling penalty shootout. After a 1-1 draw in regular time, Nandurbar emerged victorious, winning 4-3 on penalties. Neel B held his nerve and converted the decisive penalty to secure the win for Nandurbar.
Washim showcased their goal-scoring abilities with a resounding 5-1 victory over Latur. Captain Pushkar Rindhe led the charge with two goals, inspiring his team to a convincing win.
Ahmednagar dominated their match against Parbhani, securing a comprehensive 10-0 victory. With nine different goal scorers, Ahmednagar demonstrated their collective strength and attacking prowess securing 2nd straight win in as many days.
Later in the evening fixture, Kolhapur asserted their dominance with a commanding 10-0 win over Yavatmal. Gandharva Dhoke stole the show with an impressive four-goal haul, while Harshawardhan and Ishan Tiwale each contributed two goals to the team’s victory.
Dhule secured a 2-0 win over Gondia, courtesy of goals from Rushikesh Mahajan and Krishna Jire, showcasing their strong defensive performance.
