Kenkre FC strengthens defense with signing of Uzbekistan centre-back Samandar Ochilov

Mumbai-based Kenkre FC have announced the signing of Uzbekistan centre-back Samandar Ochilov for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.

The 27-year-old defender brings a wealth of experience to the team, having played for several clubs in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

Ochilov began his career in his home country, playing for Akademia Bunyodkor Tashkent, Akademia Pakhtakor Tashkent, and Akademia Nasaf Qarshi. It was at Nasaf Qarshi where he made his senior debut before moving on to play for FK Oqtepa and then at FK Khujand in Tajikistan.

Kenkre FC, who are currently one spot above the relegation zone, will hope that Ochilov’s signing will strengthen their defence. The team has allowed 21 goals in 12 games and will need to improve their defensive play if they want to avoid being relegated.

The signing of Ochilov comes on the heels of the recent acquisitions of 24-year-old Nepalese striker Anjan Bista and 23-year-old Cameroonian striker Auguste Boum Somlaga. With these new additions to the team, Kenkre FC is looking to boost their attack and secure a spot in the I-League next season.

Kenkre FC fans will be excited to see Samandar Ochilov in action, and the team will be counting on his experience and skills to help them stay in the league.
