In-form India on Track FC Cruises Past 10-Man Charkop FC with a Commanding 3-0 Victory

India on Track FC MFA Super League

In a crucial Mumbai Super League Group C encounter, Second half goals help India on Track FC secure a dominant 3-0 win against a 10-man Charkop FC

One of the front runners for the top 2 spot in Group C, India on Track came into the game, 19 game unbeaten streak since last season and looking to close the gap with the league leaders – Tarun Sporting. Charkop FC, on the other hand, faced a do-or-die situation, needing a win to stay in contention for the top 2 race.

The game kicked off cautiously, with both teams displaying strong defensive performances to nullify each other’s attacks. IoT came close in the first half, with Saurabh Nikam attempting a curling shot from the left side of the box, narrowly missing the target. Moments later, Rohan Dsouza’s freekick to the far post almost found the head of Saurabh Nikam.

The first half ended with heightened drama and intensity, as the game turned physical. In the final minutes, Sagar Gawade of Charkop and Rohan Dsouza received yellow cards, and Sagar was subsequently sent off, reducing Charkop to 10 men. Adding to the tension, a member of the Charkop coaching staff was also shown the way out for arguing with the referee.

The second half saw IoT coming out with increased vigor, taking advantage of the numerical superiority. Despite Charkop being a man down, their defense held strong against the relentless attacks from India on Track. The introductions of Anurag PC and Karthik Bele added a new dimension to the IoT attack.

The breakthrough came in the 71st minute when a well-executed freekick by Sana Singh found defender Nishant, whose header to the left of the keeper opened the scoring. Ten minutes later, Substitute Anurag PC extended the lead as he clinically finished off Sana Singh’s precise ball from the left wing.

In the dying moments of injury time, Anurag PC struck again, capitalizing on miscommunication among Charkop defenders to secure the ball and slide it past the keeper, sealing a convincing 3-0 victory for IoT FC.

With this win, India on Track FC extends its unbeaten streak to an impressive 20 games, intensifying the competition for the league leaders’ spot with just a five-point gap and two games in hand for IoT FC.
