IFA announce West Bengal squad for Santosh Trophy final round

The Indian Football Association (IFA) has announced West Bengal’s squad for the final round of the 76th national football championship for the Hero Santosh Trophy.

The matches are scheduled to be held from February 11th to 20th at Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The semi-finals and the finals will be played at the King Fahd International Stadium in Saudi Arabia.

West Bengal qualified for the final round by finishing 1st in Group IV, played at the Chhatrapati Shahu Stadium in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. They won all their games, starting with a 3-0 against Haryana. They went on to hammer Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu 5-0, Madhya Pradesh 5-0, Chattisgarh 2-0 and finally beat hosts Maharashtra by a 2-1 scoreline. They scored 17 goals throughout the five games, conceding just one.

The West Bengal squad has reached the Odisha capital to take part in the prestigious tournament. The 32-time champions will be looking to bounce back and lift the trophy for a 33rd time, after losing the final against Kerala on penalties in the last edition.
