Goals Galore: WIFA Inter District Championship Kicks Off with a Bang

The highly anticipated WIFA Inter District Championship kicked off in Shirpur, Dhule with a series of exciting matches that left spectators on the edge of their seats.

With two grounds hosting the action-packed event, young talents from across districts showcased their skills and determination on the field.

In the early morning matches, Nashik dominated their clash against Nanded with an impressive 7-1 victory. The goals were evenly distributed among seven different players, demonstrating the depth of talent in the Nashik team. Simultaneously, Sangli showcased their prowess with a commanding 7-0 win over Chandrapur, led by standout performances from Prathamesh Gaikwad, who netted an impressive four goals, and Tahir Musharaf, who contributed two goals to the tally.

The matches in the late morning provided intense competition, as Amravati and Satara battled it out to a 2-2 draw. Satara ultimately emerged victorious in the penalty shootout, securing a 3-1 win. Similarly, Ahmednagar and Raigad fought tooth and nail, resulting in a 2-2 draw, with Ahmednagar prevailing in the penalty shootout with a 4-3 victory.

As the day progressed, the goals continued to flow. Parbhani and Beed engaged in a thrilling encounter, with Parbhani emerging as the victors with a 7-4 scoreline. Tejas Pandarkar’s exceptional performance, netting five goals, played a pivotal role in Parbhani’s triumph. In another high-scoring match, Palghar dominated Jalna with an astounding 14-0 victory. Lexton Colaco was in sensational form, bagging five goals, closely followed by Rudra Sunar, who contributed three goals to Palghar’s commanding win.

In the final matches of the day, Akola showcased their attacking prowess against Hingoli, delivering an impressive 11-0 victory. Touhid Ahmed stole the spotlight with four goals to his name. Solapur also displayed their dominance, securing a 7-0 win over Osmanabad, thanks to a stellar performance from Sai Rajwani, who notched three goals.

The opening day of the WIFA Inter District Championship treated the spectators to a thrilling display of skill, teamwork, and determination from the participating teams. With such an impressive start, the tournament promises to offer more exhilarating matches in the coming days.
