DK Pharma and GMSC-MYJ share spoils in Mumbai Premier League Clash

Henjoimang Khongsai's second half strike put DK Pharma ahead before Super-sub Tejas Raut header levelled up for GMSC MYJ

After a Cautious first half, Henjoimang Khongsai’s second half strike put DK Pharma ahead before Substitute Tejas Raut turned super-sub with a headed goal to level up for GMSC MYJ

In a tightly contested encounter between DK Pharma and GMSC-MYJ in the Mumbai Premier League, both teams started cautiously, testing the waters with calculated plays from the back and attacking from the wings. The initial phase witnessed no significant attempts on goal, with both sides focusing on solid defense.

The first notable chance arrived for GMSC-MYJ around the 10th minute when a well-placed cross from the left flank found Tanmay Talgaonkar in the center of the box, but his header went over the bar. DK Pharma responded with a promising freekick from Liannielun, leading to a series of attempts, including Ronan’s blocked strike.

The most exciting moment of the first half came when Henjoimang Kongsai’s powerful left-footed shot forced a spectacular save from GMSC-MYJ’s goalkeeper, tipping the ball over the bar.

Despite several promising attacks from both sides, the first half concluded with a deadlock at 0-0.

The second half saw a rejuvenated DK Pharma, making three strategic substitutions during halftime to gain control. The fresh legs injected new energy into DK Pharma’s attack, forcing GMSC-MYJ’s defense to clear several shots on target.

In the 70th minute, the long-awaited breakthrough occurred when Goulen Kipgen’s freekick found Henjoimang Khongsai, who cleverly chipped the ball over the defender and the keeper to open the scoring.

GMSC-MYJ responded by introducing Allen Dias, Harshal Karle, and Tejas Raut into the game. The tactical changes proved effective, as Tejas Raut headed in an exquisite delivery from Allen Dias in the 82nd minute, leveling the score at 1-1.

Both teams intensified their efforts in the final moments, creating opportunities on either end. A remarkable save from Manoj Gupta denied DK Pharma, while Manuel Dsouza’s strike for GMSC-MYJ hit the crossbar.

As the referee blew the final whistle, the teams settled for a hard-fought 1-1 draw, leaving GMSC-MYJ tied at the top spot with Oranje FC, Millat FC, and Kalina Rangers-CFF, all boasting 7 points. Meanwhile, DK Pharma secured the 10th spot with 4 points from three matches.
