Disparar FC, Roar FC among Winners in Thane Football Association’s AIFF Golden Baby League

Thane Football Association (TFA) has successfully conducted the AIFF Golden Baby League (GBL) in the district of Thane, Maharashtra. The league was organized for players under the age groups of 6, 8, 10, and 12 years, and saw participation from over 2232 players from all zones of Thane District. The league consisted of 128 teams and 487 league matches, starting from December 2022 and concluding on 30th April 2023.

The TFA initiated planning for the AIFF Golden Baby League in July 2022 and requested WIFA to arrange an instructor to conduct a workshop on the GBL for their coaches and league operators. The workshop was conducted in September 2022 by Mr. Deepak, the Head of AIFF Grassroots Development. In October, locations and organizing teams were finalized, and all logistics required for the league were arranged, including the same size goalposts at all three locations.

The TFA shortlisted 36 referees for the league and conducted a Referees Clinic with the help of Mr. Ramesh Subramanyam, an instructor from the All-India Football Association of Referees and head of referees. The best young referees were selected by the TFA Referees panel and groomed to be future referees.

The league commenced in December 2022, and the winners of each category were announced at the closing ceremony, held on May 4th, 2023. The TFA would like to thank the District Football Body, Thane Football Association/WIFA & AIFF for their guidance and technical support, academies, clubs, schools, coaches, parents, and physiotherapists for their support and encouragement.

Highest Scorer – Kabir Chote (SP Football Academy)

Best Player – Kathan Patel (Golden Eagles Football Academy)
Best Goalkeeper – Vedang Raina (Pro School Sports India)
Highest Scorer – Riaan Kondwilkar (Rising Stars)

Runner’s Up – Thane City FC Ninjas
Best Goalkeeper – Kshitij Suryavanshi (Roar Football Club)
