Defender Hardik Bhatt joins Mumbai City FC

Rajasthan United right-back Hardik Bhatt has reportedly joined Mumbai City FC on a loan deal for the rest of the season.

According to reports, the deal involves a loan fee and will run until the end of the season with an option to buy. Hardik played 10 games for the Desert Warriors earlier this season and was an important player for the team.

The 25-year-old started his professional career with ARA FC in 2019. He later moved to FC Bengaluru United. He appeared in eight games for the Bengaluru-based club in their I-league second division campaign and scored twice. He then moved to Hyderya Sports FC, a club based in Kashmir, in 2021.

Hardik signed for new I-league participant Rajasthan United FC in December 2021. He was part of their Durand Cup campaign and featured in 3 games in the 2021-22 I-League season.

The 25-year-old defender is a solid addition to the Mumbai City squad and can help in their Indian Super League shield and title charge this season. He is a versatile player and can play as a centre-back and left-back, along with his natural right-back position.

Mumbai City are currently in a well-advanced position to win the Indian Super League shield this season. They are 1st in the table and have 39 points in 15 games, which includes 12 wins and 3 draws. They have not even lost a single game this season and are closing in on donning the ‘invincibles’ mark.
