by Chittu Shetty April 23, 2023

Ambernath United Atlanta FC continued their impressive run of form as they secured a convincing 3-0 victory against Hyderabad FC in their penultimate game of the Hero 2nd Division.

The game started with AUA FC taking the initiative right from the kickoff, and it didn’t take them long to get on the scoresheet. In the 9th minute, India international Adil Khan opened the scoring for AUA FC with a brilliantly taken goal. The early goal boosted their confidence and they continued to dominate the game. Adil Khan again got on the scoresheet in the 27th minute with a powerful header to double the lead.

Hyderabad FC tried to find their way back into the game, but the AUA FC defense led by Adil Khan held firm, and they couldn’t create many clear-cut chances. The first half ended with AUA FC leading 2-0.

In the second half, AUA FC continued to push forward and were rewarded in the 77th minute when Arif Shaikh, the club’s leading goal scorer this season, scored a third goal to put the game beyond any doubt.

AUA FC’s win takes them to the 2nd position in the Group D table with 14 points from 7 games. They will now face the unbeaten league leaders ARA FC in their final group match.

Overall, it was a comprehensive performance by AUA FC, and they will be hoping to carry this momentum forward into their final group game and secure their place in the final round of the Hero 2nd Division.
