In a football spectacle, Maharashtra showcased their dominance with a resounding 6-0 victory over Andhra Pradesh in the Santosh Trophy Group F clash.

The game kicked off with Maharashtra asserting early pressure, and Johnson Mathews’ precise cross found Himanshu, who narrowly missed a header. The breakthrough arrived in the 14th minute when Nikhil Kadam’s corner reached Pavan Mali, heading home to open the scoring.

Maharashtra continued their attacking prowess, earning a penalty in the 25th minute. Kadam’s foul inside the box led to a calm conversion by Himanshu Patil, doubling the lead. The first half concluded with Maharashtra firmly in control, leading 2-0.

The second half witnessed an early goal from Advait Shinde, who showcased clinical finishing to extend the lead to 3-0. Armash Ansari’s spectacular attempt struck the crossbar, adding to the relentless pressure. Advait Shinde continued his stellar performance, securing a brace with a powerful left-footed shot in the 60th minute, making it 4-0.

The game’s highlight came with Johnson Mathews scoring an Olympic goal, catching the Andhra keeper off guard and widening the lead to 5-0. In the dying moments, substitute Sanket Salokhe made a brilliant run beating a couple of defenders before setting up his teammate Advait Shinde for his hat-trick, sealing Maharashtra’s emphatic 6-0 victory.

Advait Shinde’s outstanding hat-trick not only solidifies Maharashtra’s position at the top of Group F but also underscores their formidable attacking capabilities in the Santosh Trophy.
