MFA Harwood Champions League to commence from June 27th onwards

The top three teams from both MFA Elite Premier league and MFA Elite Corporate League will take part in the Harwood Champions League as MFA brings back a legacy competition

Six teams will battle it out for the coveted title as Mumbai Football Association brings back the prestigious Harwood League starting this season.

Top three teams from the MFA Elite Premier league – Ambernath United – Atlanta FC, Karnatak Sporting Association, PIFA Colaba and the top 3 teams from the MFA Elite Corporate league – Bank of Baroda, Income Tax, and Mumbai Customs will be participating in the competition in a round-robin format with league leaders at the end lifting the Trophy.

The tournament will run from June 27th to July 11 with all the games to be played out at Cooperage Stadium, Mumbai.

Ambernath United – Atlanta FC who rattled everyone to lift the MFA Elite Premier League title in their maiden appearance come into this competition as favorites. The club led by former India international Steven Dias was in a rampaging form throughout the Elite League campaign scoring a mammoth 77 goals in their 17-game-winning run. The club is yet to face defeat in this season of football.

Meanwhile, Income Tax, Bank of Baroda, and Mumbai Customs who were the top 3 teams from the MFA Corporate league can be expected to put up some tough challenges against the favorites. Boasting some of the best players of Mumbai, the Corporate teams will be no pushovers.

At the other end, PIFA and Karnataka Sporting Association will be both looking to put up their best fight in the competition and can be expected to spring some surprises.
