KSA kept the pressure high as soon Mohd Zaid Ansari and Roger Sam soon made it 3-0 even before the halftime break.

The second half saw Bombay Muslims holding off the threat better while fancying a couple of their own moves. In the 77th minute, however, KSA won a penalty inside the box which Ayush Shetty made no mistake in converting to make it 4-0.

PIFA SC Edge Salcette FC

PIFA Sports Club eked out a narrow 1-0 win against Salsette FC in an evenly contested MFA Elite Division (Private) match at the Neville D’Souza ground, Bandra.

Both, PIFA and Salsette played an open game but play from mostly confided to midfield action. The midfielder and attackers of both teams lacked creativity and there were not many goal-scoring opportunities at both ends, and the first 45 minutes finished in a goalless stalemate.

But, after the teams switched sides on resumption, PIFA Sports Club capitalized on a clear opening to take the lead with striker Rohit Mirza firing past goalkeeper Siddharth Lawande to score the lone goal of the match in the 53rd minute.

Salsette FC tried their best to put pressure on the PIFA citadel and snatch an equalizing goal. But, the PIFA defenders did well to foil all the attempts from the Salsette attackers to ensure their goal remained intact and finish with a creditable win and pocket all three points.

Referee Rosario Fernandes did a good job in handling the match which did not witness a single booking.
