Kenkre suffer a narrow defeat to Aizawl

In a game where Kenkre players played their hearts out, they were narrowly defeated 1-0 by Aizawl FC.
After a positive result in the previous game, Kenkre entered the pitch with 4 changes to the lineup that restricted Rajasthan United to a draw. Pravitto, Kenstar, Daniel, and Aman found themselves in the starting eleven.
Aravindraj started proceedings for Kenkre. From the very first whistle, Kenkre went into full-on attacking mode. Fast forward to the 7th minute of play, Aravindraj made a brilliant run down the left-hand channel and put a cross into the box but it just missed Pravitto’s head.
Towards the end of the first quarter, Aizawl managed to keep the ball well in their possession and created a few chances. In the 17th minute, Aizawl forward Samuel took a shot which was easily cleared by the Kenkre defense.
In the 39th minute, Kenkre won a free kick just outside Aizawl’s box. Aravindraj curled the ball inside but Aizawl’s defense cleared it for a corner. Vijay took the corner kick and the ball met Pravitto’s head but his effort was easily collected by the Aizawl goalkeeper.
Kenkre put on another brilliant defensive display in the first half as they entered the tunnel with a stalemate.
In the break, Kenkre head coach Akhil Kothari brought in Ranjeet in place of Akeraj. In the 49th minute of the game, Kenkre’s Aman Gaikwad had to be stretchered off the pitch after a nasty collision with an Aizawl player. In the 52nd minute, Siddharth replaced Aman.
In the 55th minute, Kenkre forward Vijay succeeded to make a run between the opposition defense and lobbed the ball over the Aizawl goalkeeper, but failed to open the scoring as it went over the bar.
In the 75th minute, Dipanda Dicka, after finding no open space inside Kenkre’s box, passed the ball outside to Ramhlunchhunga, who took a powerful shot and gave Aizawl the lead.
In the 86th minute, Kenkre took possession of the ball and went ahead in search of the leveler, but could not succeed.
The referee blew the final whistle in the 90+6th minute and the game ended with another loss for the Mumbai-based side.
Kenkre FC will take on newcomer Srineedi Deccan FC on Friday, April 1, 2022.
