“The team won’t play for a point”- Juan Fernando

The League has come down to the final day where FC Goa and Hyderabad FC will leave no stones unturned to qualify for the playoffs when they face each other in an equally poised competition today at Fatorda Stadium at 5:00 pm. The match will be a decider for the final playoff spot alongside ATK Mohun Bagan, Mumbai City FC and NorthEast United FC.

Goa is one of the most feared teams in the ISL. They play on the attacking side and always find the gaps and create chances to attack. The team has strong players who have the hunger to score.

Hyderabad FC is also a strong team that has been on a winning streak. Hyderabad FC has not lost in the past 11 games. Hyderabad will be missing their 3 key players, Aridane Santana, Asish Rai and Chinglensana Singh. However, the team has played without Aridane against ATK Mohun Bagan and the match result was a draw. The team has also played without Asish and Chinglensana in their first game and fared well.

Aridane will be missing the match due to suspension for the fourth caution. Asish Rai is out of the season due to his injury and Chinglensana Singh will be missing due to receiving his marching orders against ATK Mohun Bagan.

FC Goa’s Coach Juan Fernando said that “the team won’t play for a point. Every game you have pressure. The mentality of this club is to get three points every game. Of course, tomorrow we need three points, it’s because the mentality of this club is high.”

,“It will be a difficult game tomorrow as it is a final game of the league phase. With the playoff and the bubble, it is most important we have a strong mentality and positive spirit, tomorrow game is important for us player, Coaches and staff for that 90 minutes we need to give everything and have good thinking positive mindset and we have to play and have to win.” said Ivan Gonzalez, the sturdy man who leads the FC Goa defence.

In the last clash against Hyderabad FC, FC Goa won by 2-1.
FC Goa has faced Hyderabad FC previously thrice in the Hero Indian
Super League and have comprehensively won all three of them.

FC Goa has scored 7 goals against Hyderabad FC. Whereas Hyderabad FC has scored only 2 goals against FC Goa.
