Mumbai football to return as MFA plans to start season from November

Mumbai Football Association are all prepared to kick start the halted football season in the city starting 10th November 2021.

Mumbai Football Association are all prepared to kick start the halted football season in the city starting 10th November 2021.

Of the 5 divisions in the Mumbai football circuit, Super Division, 2nd Division and 3rd Division will be the first one to start in the month of November.

The pandemic situation had changed the face of sports all around the world. While many competitions and leagues had started around certain places in the country, they were all being played behind closed doors, meanwhile, Mumbai football which was scheduled to restart in October last year had to be halted for an extended time due to the increasing Covid numbers in the city.

Clubs have begun holding the trials and are preparing for the upcoming football season. A welcome sign for many city footballers, who have been deprived of the game for the past 18 months

Back in March this year it had looked like the game would be back again as MFA had organised the Women’s league, however as the second wave swept through the city in the month of April the game was halted again. As things looked settled for some time now, Mumbai Football Association are all prepared to kick start the footballing activities back in the city starting 10th November 2021.

For Super, 2nd and 3rd division Entry will be closed on 15th October 2021. MFA has also put a reminder that no team in any division will be permitted to take part if their affiliation and league entries are not paid as per the stipulated date. The teams are also reminded to complete their player registrations in the CRS before 30 October 2021. Meanwhile, MFA has also reminded the Elite and 1st division teams to pay their Affiliation Fee (2020-21 & 2021-22) by 15th October 2021 and Entry Fee before the commencement of their leagues.

Only those players who have taken both doses of vaccination are allowed to play! No vaccination, No play!
