Lenny departs from FC Goa to join Mariners, Gaurs rope in Glan as replacement

Kolkata giant ATK Mohun Bagan have signed former FC Goa’s midfielder Lenny Rodrigues. Meanwhile, FC Goa has signed Glan Martins.
Lenny Rodrigues was with the gaurs from 2018 having made 97 ISL appearances in which he has 4 goals and 2 assists on his name. He was also the part of 2019 Super Cup-winning team. He played a very crucial role in helping FC Goa reach at the top of the table in the last season and earn the AFC Champions League 2021 group stage.
Lenny had 18 months remaining on his contract with the club, but was unhappy with the decisions taken by the Head Coach Juan Fernando during the last match. The Goan midfielder was not seen in the last match against Kerala Blasters FC and was also not used as a substitute either. With this, the player expressed his desire to leave and came to a mutual understanding with the management to end the contract.
FC Goa has announced the signing of Glan Martins on a short-term deal. He will be with the Gaurs till the end of the season.
Glan had signed for ATK Mohun Bagan early this season. He made 7 appearances for the Mariners.
To his signing FC Goa’s Director, Ravi Puskar said, “We are delighted to bring Glan to FC Goa until the end of the season. He is a very exciting and talented player whose gameplay completely suits the kind of football we look to play. He is someone that we have been tracking for some time now. He is very keen to come here and test himself and will be a great addition to the squad.”
“I am extremely grateful for the chance. Having been an FC Goa fan right from the inception of the club, this is a dream come true for me. I can’t wait to put on the shirt and showcase my abilities. I have long been an admirer of the way the club plays football and it completely aligns with what I feel are my strengths. This is a chapter in my life that I want to make full use of” said Glan Martins.
Currently, ATK Mohun Bagan are in the second position with 27 points and FC Goa is in the fourth position with 21 points
