Fan Voice – Ishan Pandita has proven to be a ‘Golden Boy’

When FC Goa netted at the dying minutes to equalize against the most dominant side in this year’s ISL, it showcased the resilience and dedication the outfit has instilled into the system.

Ishan Pandita has been a revelation after last night’s injury-time goal. The 22-year-old has played an overall 21 minutes this season, attempted 3 shots and converted all of them into a goal. At the moment, FC Goa stays unbeaten for nine consecutive games.

The FC Goa fans were upbeat about their team’s performance against Mumbai City FC and shared their admiration for Ishan.

Saiel Naik, a member of the East Lower Army voiced his opinion about Ishan Pandita’s chance to start one game. “We are just dying to see him start one game. He surely deserves that one chance. Ishan has proven his worth thrice now, it’s my request to the management to give him one chance, irrespective of the result.”

Kartik Gobre believes that his team displayed an enticing performance, but as a fan he expects FC Goa to win 3 points. “I’m not disappointed about the draw, rather very proud at seeing the way our boys played. Equalizing after trailing by 2 goals is commendable. It shows that we’re immensely composed in any situation. Later it was 3-2 at the 90th minute but again we came back in the injury time with a terrific header from Ishan Pandita.”

Commenting on whether Ishan must get an opportunity to start a game, Kartik feels that the youngster has a greater impact when he comes off the bench. “Pandita makes a greater impact when he comes off the bench. He should continue to be used as a sub. He has been a super-sub for us thrice this season. Ishan Pandita is a great talent.”

Prinson Cliff Barbosa, an avid FC Goa follower from Quepem, South Goa believes that defensively the team needs to improve. “Another impressive come back and a very crucial point achieved by the Gaurs. The defense needs to tighten up. Although there have been some injuries, the team have not put their fans down. This proves that this team has the ability and the fighting spirit that is required.”

“Bit Disappointed. We all want to win right? But we were playing against a strong opponent and the table leaders so the way the team bounced back is remarkable” concluded Ashley Vales, a member of the FC Goa Fan Club.
