U17 star Anwar Ali signs for Mohammedan SC

Former India U17 world Cup star, Anwar Ali marked his return to football after signing up for I League 2nd division outfit Mohammedan SC
After losing a year of football due to his heart condition, Anwar Ali is now back to full fitness and raring to go. The 20 year old centre-back has recently signed for I league 2nd division side Mohammedan SC. The deal is believed to be on short term period with option for extension.
The 20 year old Minerva graduate was part of the India squad for the U17 FIFA World Cup in 2017, in which the youngster played in all the group matches of India. However, his biggest moment of personal glory would come a year later in the COTIF Cup where the youngster scored a stunning free-kick against Argentina U18 side to help India eke out a 2-1 win.
Soon Anwar was roped In by Indian Super League side Mumbai City FC in 2018 and the club immediately sent him out on loan to AIFF developmental side Indian Arrows to play in I League. After a successful spell at the Arrows the youngster looked all set to make his impact in ISL when tragedy stuck in the form of unfortunate medical condition. During the national camp, Anwar Ali was found to have a congenital heart condition which would stop him from playing.
Now having completed his recovery, Anwar Ali is back to full fitness and raring to get back on the field. Mohammedan SC were once the powerhouse of Kolkata football alongside Mohun Bagan and East Bengal. However, in the last two decades or so, Mohammedan have failed to make any sort of big impact while their counterparts have went on to win numerous titles.
With I league 2nd division final rounds to be played out in early September and with Mohammedan SC in with a good chance to win promotion, the youngster hopes to guide Mohammedan SC back to I league.
