Steven Dias joins Odisha FC as Assistant Coach

Former Indian International and arguably one of the greatest footballers from Mumbai agreed terms with Odisha FC. Steven Dias is all set to embark on a new journey taking up the role of Assistant Coach for the ISL based franchise in the seventh edition of the competition.

Steven plied his trade for Jamshedpur FC in the previous season. He worked as the Assistant Coach under the guidance of Antonio Iriondo, a Spaniard with an experience of coaching teams in the LaLiga, Segunda Division, and Segunda B for close to three decades.

The 36-year-old former midfielder has joined the Bhubaneswar-based club on a one-year deal. . After his phenomenal playing career with the Indian National Team and many reputed clubs like Air India, Mahindra United, Churchill Brothers, Delhi Dynamos, and Mumbai FC, Mr. Dias had joined Jamshedpur FC as their Assistant Coach last year. . After the signing, Head Coach Mr. Stuart Baxter commented, “Steven has a successful playing career and the players look up to him. He will be a valuable asset for us while he develops as a coach.” . After joining Odisha FC, Mr. Dias expressed, “I am delighted to be joining experienced coach Stuart Baxter at Odisha FC. The club’s forward thinking vision of developing young Indian talent was a major factor in determining my decision to become a part of the project. . “I am looking forward to working hard with the team for positive achievement in the season ahead. Now I am just excited to get things going and meeting everyone. After his laudable playing career with the National Team and other reputed clubs like Air India, Mahindra United, Churchill Brothers, Delhi Dynamos, and Mumbai FC, Steven is all set to take up a thrilling assignment at Odisha. He completed his AFC (Asian Football Confederation) ‘C’ License course in 2014.
