Maharashtra State Police dished out another determined performance to outplay Century Rayon recording a comfortable 2-0 victory in an Elite Division match of the Rustomjee-MDFA League 2019-2020 and played at the Cooperage ground on Thursday.

The Maharashtra Policemen dominated play and striker Rahul Pawar’s hard work paid rich dividends as he scored once in each half to complete the win.

Rahul scored his first goal in the 41st minute to give the cops a slender 1-0 lead at the break. He stuck the second in the 88th minute to knock the fight out of the opponents.

Central Bank of India’s striker Alistair Anthony was at his striking best and slammed four goals in leading the team to a 8-0 win against Bank of India in an Elite Division match of the Rustomjee-MDFA League 2019-2020 and played at the Cooperage ground on Wednesday.

Anthony’s teammates Gaurang Chavan struck two goals while Russel Galbano and Brandon D’Souza got one each to complete the winning margin.

Earlier, Iron Born CFCI scored a hard-fought 4-3 win against Companeroes SC in a high scoring match. Aman M. netted two goals and  Armash Ansari and Aniket Gunjal scored one apiece to seal Iron Born’s victory, while Companeroes scored through Praniet Kadam who struck two goals and Jonathan Pinto one.

KSA 24th Payyade Football tournament: Gaurav strikes for Karnatak Amateurs

Karnataka Amateur Sports Club struggled to overcome a depleted Uchil United Sports Club pulling through by a close 1-0 margin in a hard-fought league match of the 24th Late Shri Ramanath Payyade Football Tournament 2019-2020 and played at the KSA ground, Cross Maidan.

The underdogs Uchil United put up a gutsy display against the formidable Karnataka Amateur and defended well to keep the rival attackers at bay till the 50th minute.

In the 51st minute, Uchil United conceded a penalty and Gaurav Rao stepped forward and coolly converted a penalty to give Karnataka Amateur the lone winning goal, which secured the team a place in the Super League.

Result: Karnatak Amateurs SC 1 (Gaurav Rao) beat Uchil United SC 0.
