WIFA Women’s Football League: South Mumbai and Snigmay settle for a goalless draw

A goalless affair saw South Mumbai United end on equal terms against Snigmay Football Club in today’s WIFA Women’s Football League fixture.

Both the teams started the match with considerable tempo but eventually succumbed to find the net. Head Coach of Snigmay Football Club, Mr Swapnil Shinde claimed “It was the first match, they needed this exposure to better their games in the upcoming matches”.

South Mumbai United had their fair bit of chances which they failed to convert. Archita Singh, the goalkeeper of Snigmay Football Club had a great outing as she made several decisive saves. ” Before the start of the match, the coach told me to enjoy my game and just focus on the match. I think his words helped me perform well” quipped Archita. She described her team played well but they missed on some chances. “This was the first match. As we go forward in the tournament our bonding will strengthen and we will improve eventually” were her concluding words.

Spark FC will face Pacangan FC and Samuel FA play against Commandos FC in tomorrow’s WIFA Women’s Football League fixtures held at the Cooperage Stadium, Mumbai.
