Super Division: Red mist as SBI and Desperados play out roughshod draw
Mumbai, January 29, 2019: The goalkeepers of SBI and Desperados saw red as a roughshod game finished at 1-1 at the Neville D’Souza Ground on Tuesday.
Tayib Ayazali (SBI) got the first red in the 30th minute for handling the ball outside the box.
Shubham Yadav (Desperados) went off in the second half for a foul.
Not to forget there was a rough game in between!
Sachin Kumawat was the star for SBI as he orchestrated numerous attacks on the Desperados’ goal.
A little bit of support for Kumawat could have tilted the game in SBI’s favor!
Vishnu Menon was Desperados’ stand-out player as he troubled SBI’s defenders with some serious pace.
Desperados didn’t benefit from Ayazali’s sending off as they failed to convert in front of goal.
Even SBI couldn’t take advantage of Yadav’s red card in the second half.
The first half ended goalless as both teams scrapped it out in midfield.
Desperados scored in the 75th minute as Sumit Shah hit home off a rebound.
SBI hit back as Dyaneshwar Bhoir’s long ranged shot went past the keeper in the 85th minute.
They had luck on their side as the stand-in goalkeeper couldn’t hold on to the shot as it went in!
