Ravish nets hat-trick as Mumbai Strikers blanks Rhema 7-0
1st February 2019, Mumbai: Friday afternoon saw Mumbai Strikers meeting Rhema Sports Foundation in an intriguing MDFA Elite Division (Private Group) encounter at the Cooperage Stadium. In what turned out to be a ruthless display, Ravish D’Souza bagged a first-half hat-trick to lead Mumbai Strikers to an emphatic 7-0 win over Rhema Sports Foundation.
An astonishing six goals were scored in the first-half itself. Right from the kick-off, Sandeep Singh’s side looked sharp and ruthless in front of the goal. Shaun Menezes opened the scoring in the 7th minute before Himesh Mistry doubled the lead just two minutes later.
Rhema never looked organized. The positioning and hold-up play was nothing but poor. Mumbai Strikers were all over the place, pressing high up the pitch and dispossessing R.S.F comfortably. It seemed Mumbai Strikers was prepared long back to face RS.F.
Ravish got off the mark in the 15th minute before scoring Mumbai Strikers’ fourth and his second of the game just before the half an hour mark. Three minutes later, Akshay Devadiga’s beautiful finish added Strikers’ fifth goal before Ravish D’Souza completed his hat-trick at the stroke of half-time.
The second-half was a bit dull. Mumbai Strikers seemed tired after a brilliant first-half display. Sandeep Singh’s fired-up side had several opportunities to improve their lead but it was only in the injury time when Akshay Devadiga scored the seventh and final goal of the game to complete a memorable victory.
