Mumbai Strikers holds KSA 1-1
13th February 2019, Mumbai: Mumbai Strikers locked horns against Karnataka Sports Association (KSA) in MDFA Elite Division (Private Group) at Cooperage Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. A host of opportunities fell to both the sides as an entertaining game ended in a 1-1 draw.
After the end of first-half, one could’ve definitely argued about the intensity of the game which was right there at the top this season.
KSA made a great start. Faiz opened the scoring with a net finish from the edge of the box. But the Strikers responded well. Midway through the half, KSA’s custodian conceded a penalty. Ravish D’Souza stepped up for Mumbai Strikers but the goalkeeper made a great save to deny the prolific striker. With both the teams adding up the intensity, the match became heated up.
KSA’s goalkeeper once again conceded the penalty and was shown the marching orders. Substitute Goalkeeper Rajesh Bangera came on. Jaye took the responsibility this time but his effort was saved. On the rebound, Rajesh Bangera denied it once again before Ravish finally found the back of the net to level the score.
The intensity in the second half cooled down. KSA dominated the match proceedings with Ashish Lalge, Astle Pereira, and Charnel at the top of their game. At the final whistle, both the spirited side shared the spoils.
