MDFA ELITE DIVISION: Kenkre FC-GMSC game abandoned

Mumbai Football Arena, January 11, 2019: Even before a ball had been kicked this writer (and a few fans) saw Kenkre FC and GMSC players walk off the turf on Friday.

The message: the game had been ‘abandoned’!

Mr. John Almeida (owner, GMSC) said refusal to play the required fourth referee (official) led to a conflict of interest. That led to the game being ‘abandoned’!

He said that the trend of playing only three match referees or officials must change.

The referees (and match officials) on the other hand refused to comment on the issue!
