KSA sinks Bombay Gymkhana 2-0 in Elite Division

KSA

15th January 2019, Mumbai: KSA continued their fine form in the MDFA Elite Division (Private Group) after defeating Bombay Gymkhana 2-0 at the Cooperage Stadium on Tuesday evening. With this win, KSA has cemented their place at the top of the table with 10 points in 4 games, whereas, Bombay Gymkhana stays 12th with 3 points in as many games.

KSA was quite dominant in the first-half where they opened up Bombay Gymkhana’s backline several times but couldn’t open the scoring, courtesy poor finishing. KSA’s Captain and Former Mumbai FC maestro Steven Dias had an outstanding outing.

Rolling back the years, Steven made several dangerous crosses from the right flank. Tushar Poojary came twice at the end of Steven’s cross but couldn’t manage to finish it. At the back, KSA’s Faiz Khan, Lawrence Betgiri, and midfielder Astle Pereira made sure to break Gymkhana’s attack numerous times throughout the game.

In the second half, KSA stepped up their game where witnessed a much more clinical and sharp finishing. After missing a handful of opportunities, it was Faiz Khan and Tushar Poojary’s well-taken goal in the second half which separated both the sides.

It was not all a dull display by Bombay Gymkhana but they need to be more aggressive up front to deliver in such tight matches. Their midfield played quite well yesterday and dispossessed KSA many times but in the attacking third, Gymkhana was shaky.

A little tweak here and there and Bombay Gymkhana can definitely upset any team in the Private Group.
