Jayesh and Prathamesh leads FSI Seaview to glory

FSI Seaview

23rd February 2019, Mumbai: On Saturday afternoon, two in-form sides Bombay Gymkhana and FSI (Football School of India) Seaview played each other in MDFA Elite Division (Private Group) at the Cooperage Stadium. FSI Seaview displayed a clinical performance to overcome Bombay Gymkhana 2-0, courtesy Jayesh and Prathamesh’s second-half goals.

Although FSI Seaview has suffered a couple of loss in recent weeks, they have genuinely played well across the same time period. Their performance against U-Mumba was outstanding despite losing the match in the injury time.

While, on the other hand, Bombay Gymkhana is having a decent season as well. But on Saturday, things never looked in place for Suresh Mendon and Manish Singh Kajania’s side. Poor decision making and lackluster defending summed up Gymkhana’s day against a determined FSI team.

In the first-half, both the outfits had a poor outing in front of the goal. Several chances fell into place but not one attempt looked like going in. At one stage of the match, a stalemate was on the cards.

Going into the second-half, FSI Seaview’s strategy to push forward right from the first minute paid dividends. It was Jayesh’s sumptuous strike from the edge of the box which opened FSI’s account.

Gymkhana had a number of opportunities to level the score but once again poor decision making in the final third led to their frustration. Seaview’s Manager Joel brought in Prathamesh to spark their attack and the lanky striker perfectly executed the plan.

In the 78th minute, after Seaview missed numerous sitters, Prathamesh found himself through on goal. The number 24 kept his head high and comfortably placed his effort in the back of the net to seal the game with a brilliant finish.
