HDFC down 10 men BOI, Bank of Baroda beat MSP

10 men BOI

HDFC produced a clinical performance to outclass 10 men BOI while in other Elite Division encounter, Bank of Baroda got the better of Maharashtra State Police

In what turned out to be a rather one sided affair, HDFC outclassed BOI, who were reduced to 10 players as early as in the 9th minute of the game, with a dominating 4-0 victory.

HDFC started out brightly with striker Aaditya Dalvi finding himself in open space around the 9th minute mark, Naresh Bohra, who was the last man in the defence held off the player to save his side from the early goal. However, denying a clear goal scoring opportunity meant the referee sending off the player. Down to 10 men, BOI found it hard to hold off HDFC’s wave of attacks.

Ramesh Singh finally broke the deadlock in the 30th minute when he beat his marker Rakesh to score the opening goal. Eight minutes later, Prashant Rane doubled the lead with sweet curler from just outside the box.

After the change of ends, Pragnesh Solanki had a chance to add one more early in the second half, however the striker failed to convert his chance with only keeper to beat. Few minutes later, another attempt from Solanki on a volley brought out a brilliant save from BOI keeper as the score remained at 2-0.

Around the hour mark, Digvijay Yadav added one more to the HDFC tally with shot from the edge of the box to make it 3-0. Few minutes later, Titus attempted a shot from distance but this time BOI keeper was alert to deny the goal. Midway through the second half, Ramesh Singh completed his brace with another strike to make it 4-0. BOI consolidated in the final few minutes to deny rampant HDFC any further goals as the game ended 4-0.

In another match, after a barren first half, Bank of Baroda managed to break the Policemen’s resistance as striker Arfat Ansari hit the target in the 59th minute. MSP tried to comeback into the game but failed to beat Bank of Baroda defence. Later,in the 2nd minute of the injury time, Denzil Mascarenhas added the second goal for BOB to put the game to bed.

Results – Elite Div:

HDFC Bank (Ramesh Singh 30’, 73’, Prashant Rane 38’, Digvijay Yadav 62’) 4 – 0 Bank of India

Bank of Baroda (Arfat Ansari 59’, Denzil Mascarenhas 90+2’) 2 – 0 Maharashtra State Police
