The Sports Gurukul presents Eric Benny Football Scouting in Mumbai, where you have a chance to be part of the next I-League Team and complete your graduation while pursuing your passion for Football.

The Sports Gurukul is Mumbai’s first of its kind physical education, professional sports & fitness development and training organization. We are looking to create awareness for sports and fitness as an important part of moral and physical education.

Established in 2011 by Eric Benny, Eric Benny Sports Management (EBSM) is a multi-national organization having its offices in India, Germany and France. Eric Benny, the founder and CEO has managed the Indian National Team at the highest level in Asia for Asian Games 2010, Guangzhou. By starting a Youth Players club in 2011 known as Indian Arrows, his contribution towards development of football players in India is noteworthy. Focusing on Youth Football development, EBSM from 2015 – 2017 got the privilege to support and train the Indian Under – 17 World Cup team in Europe. Players that have been mentored by Eric Benny Sports Management are successfully playing for the Indian National Team, Indian Super League (ISL) and European Clubs.

Our scouting process happens once a year by UEFA Certified coaches at our football academies. Shortlisted students will be given an opportunity to be trained and mentored at our European centres of expertise for a short-term program in FC Metz, France or Deutsches Fussball Internat (DFI), Germany. Selected students from this short-term program will then have an opportunity to be mentored at FC Metz, France or Deutsches Fussball Internat (DFI), ermany for a longterm program. Those who have not qualified for our short-term or long-term programs will be
trained at our academies and will get an opportunity to get scouted for our next season.

How Many Players Are Scouted?

This really does vary depending on the trial. The success rate is much higher than conventional trials due to many factors including the coaching, the expectation and instructions we give and the high standard of trialists.

I’m Over 18, Can I Take Part?

Absolutely. Do not let age distract you from chasing your goal. Heres your opportunity to pursue football with GRADUATION.

What’s the age categories for the scouting program?

Participants aged 7-25 years can take part in the scouting program.

Saturday, 20th April
– U 14 and U 16: 8 am to 10 am
– 16 to 19 years: 10 am to 12 noon
– U 8 and U 10: 4 pm to 6 pm

Sunday, 21st April 2019
20-25 years: 8 am to 9 am

Can you just turn up at the scouting venue?

Yes. On the spot registratioin is available with a registration fee of Rs. 500

What does EBSM look for in a student athlete?

EBSM looks for student-athletes who have a strong commitment to academics, athletics and personal growth. Student-athletes must be diligent in school, sport and community duties, with a willingness to not sacrifice effort in any area.

How does EBSM view the balance between student and athlete?

Our experienced faculty appreciates the demands of being both a student and an athlete, and they strive to provide a constructive balance between school and football. Our faculty challenges student-athletes through advanced coursework, but also supports through distance learning (when needed for sport travel), tutoring sessions available nightly.

How many hours per day is training?

The athlete will be trained minimum two hours per day. Depending upon your child’s capability of taking load while training. There is a progression towards development which will increase your training hours which will lead to more awareness and maturity in the game.

What is covered in Football training?

We utilize a progressive curriculum that is designed to cover various aspects of the game. Players can expect to be trained in technical, tactical, physical and mental realms with a mixture of drill work and small- and full-sided games. All our coaches are UEFA certified and licensed.

What is Eric Benny Football School?

Eric Benny Football School (EBFS) is a venture of EBSM. EBFS is in academic collaboration with Delhi Public School Rau, and is first of its kind international residential football school in India. We offer a unique academic and athletic environment where the responsibility for learning is handed back to the student-athletes, where teachers and coaches act as mentors to the students and guide & consult them at every step of their journey.
