WCG Rink football: Almeida strikes two in Holy Family win
Charnel Almeida twin strikes helped Holy Family ‘A’, Andheri overcome St. Andrew’s ‘A’, Bandra by a close 3-1 margin in a in a Men’s Open pre-quarter-final match of the Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana organized 31st Inter-Parish 5-a-side Rink Football Tournament – 2018 for the Victor D’Mello Trophy and played under floodlights at the gymkhana’s tennis courts. Striker Alister Mendes netted the third goal for the winning side, while St. Andrew’s reduced the defict through Denzil Mascarenhas.
In another match, St. Joseph’s ‘A’, Juhu got the better of St. Vincent Pallotti ‘A’, Marol 2-0. Tushar Bhosle and Ryan D’Silva were on target with a goal each for the winners.
Meanwhile, in a Ladies quarter-final encounter, Bandra Packers Blue riding of the strikes from Delfiya Pereira, Neha Ture and Jennifer Coutinho stormed to a 3-0 win against Football Amboli SC.

Men Veterans (pre-quarter-finals): Spartans Red (Appa Rao 2, Ralson M.) beat Legends United 0.

Crazy Boys 2 (Salim Sheikh 2) beat Air India 1 (Anthony Fernandes).
Bandra Packers Yellow 1 (Ranzie Kalicharan) beat Vintage FC 0.
